Trinity Day 8 September 2023
Throughout Corsica and also in Bonifacio at the Hermitage of the Trinity, the Nativity of the Virgin is celebrated with devotion according to a centuries-old tradition.
It is in the open air, at the foot of the mountain of the Trinity 219 meters high where a cross stands, that the solemnity of the nativity of the Virgin is celebrated.
The program of the day:
- Mass at 10:00
- Festive lunch offered by the friends of the Trinity
- Vespers and procession at 5:30 pm
After the ceremony according to tradition, a meal is organized in the utmost conviviality.
The inhabitants of Bonifacio share lunch on the rocks, tasting the famous Bonifacienne stuffed aubergines according to local custom, which each family carefully prepares.
